The International Women’s Brass Conference is a time to celebrate music and build a community in support of women and gender-marginalized brass musicians. We are happy to be back in the United States and headed to the East Coast in Hartford, Connecticut hosted by the Hartt School.
The 2025 Conference will bring together everything you love about an International Women’s Brass Conference from the inclusive atmosphere, incredible performances, enriching presentations, and competitions for all with new and exciting events highlighting the talent of rising student stars in the brass world and celebrating the rich history of musicianship in this area of the country.

Birthday Celebration for John Kander in NYC at Stephen Sondheim Theater

Join us and our favorite emcee, Alan Cumming, on Monday, May 19th to celebrate beloved songwriter John Kander’s 98th birthday. A remarkable roster of Roundabout favorites and brand new friends will take the stage for a once-in-a-lifetime concert showcasing the life and career of the composer of such shows as Cabaret, Chicago, and Kiss of the Spider Woman.
For nearly five decades, John Kander and lyricist Fred Ebb wrote the scores for 15 Broadway musicals. This one-night concert will reunite Roundabout Interim Artistic Director Scott Ellis, director and choreographer Susan Stroman, and playwright David Thompson, the creative team behind Kander and Ebb’s And The World Goes ‘Round and Steel Pier, to create a song-and-dance birthday salute to one of the brightest lights Broadway has ever known.

In celebration of its 100th anniversary, The Dessoff Choirs and Orchestra joins forces with Trinity Choir, Downtown Voices, and NOVUS to take the audience on a soul-stirring journey through Giuseppe Verdi’s Requiem. The epic work is paired with the world premiere of an exciting new choral work by Pulitzer Prize–winning composer Tania León commissioned for Dessoff’s centennial. Leading the powerful performance is Grammy-nominated conductor Malcolm J. Merriweather, director of the New York Philharmonic Chorus and music director of The Dessoff Choirs and Orchestra.
